Parent Carer Update - February 2022
This week is Children’s Mental Health Week. Staff in Phase 3 marked this on Wednesday by "dressing to express". In all phases mental health and wellbeing is an important part of our work with students and we have used This week as an opportunity to talk about where to get help.
Young Minds
Young Minds is a fantastic resource both for young people and parents/carers. It can be difficult to start a conversation, and these handy tips might just let your child start to talk.
Safety Information
We have received a report recently that a member of the public was visited by someone falsely claiming to be an Education Welfare Officer working for North Somerset Council. Please note that all North Somerset Staff will have an ID badge which has their photo and title on the badge, and will have the North Somerset logo on the badge.
If you have any concerns, you are advised to contact the police.
Covid Updates
Thank you for your support and understanding this term. We have had a number of staff and students testing positive since January and we thank you for your understanding in some of the changes made due to staff absences. We also appreciate ongoing support with regular LFD tests. We know that there will likely be further changes to the national guidance later this month and will keep you updated with these.
Parent/Carers wanted!
Our Management Committee oversees the work of the school and is keen for some parent/carer volunteers. The minimum time commitment is 6 meetings a year – we would love to have you involved.
Please contact Emma Smith [E-Mail not displayed] if you are interested.
