At Voyage Learning Campus we’re committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our pupils. To help us to do this, we’re embedding the Thrive Approach. You may hear your child talking about Thrive, so we wanted to share some information about what it is.
- Thrive provides schools and settings with training, resources and an online tool (Thrive-Online), so they can better understand the social and emotional needs of the children and young people they work with.
- Through Thrive training, teaching staff learn how to help children and young people understand and manage their emotions, so they feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
- Established in 1994, Thrive is underpinned by neuroscientific research (studies of the brain) as well as child development theory, attachment theory and research into play, creativity and the arts.
- More than 75,000 staff in over 2,800 schools and settings have received Thrive training, helping them to positively impact the lives of nearly 800,000 children and young people.
Our Thrive lead is Christina Perry, Assistant Vice Principal.
